Recipe of the Week :: Savory Scraps
Cheesy, yummy goodness! If your dog insists on table scraps, he won't believe his luck when this hits his bowl! Keep in mind, these weekly recipes are not only all natural, but they are perfect bites for you and the dog in your life to share (just use separate bowls!).
Ingredients checklist:
1 pound ground turkey
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/4 cups cold water
1 cup cornmeal
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1/3 cup shreded Parmesan cheese
The ingredients certainly aren't scrappy, huh? Wait till they all come together for the beg-worthy finished product! The recipe makes 9 scrumptious squares.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a skillet, brown the ground turkey and garlic together, then drain well.
Mix cold water, egg, cornmeal, and parsley together in a bowl, then add to the skillet with turkey and garlic.
Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Cover and continue cooking over low heat for 10 minutes.
Pour into an 8 x 8-inch pan, sprinkle the top with Parmesan cheese, and bake for 40 minutes. Cool, cut into 9 squares, then serve. Store well wrapped in the refrigerator.
Yumm! These savory scraps are good enough for both you and your fur baby.
