Records Broken by LRAV in 2015
346 + 243 + 436 + 1,636 =
A record-smashing year at the Little Rock Animal Village! What do those numbers mean? The short version: 2,661 lives saved. The long version? Well… To begin, in 2015 the Village took in 346 animals that were reclaimed by their owners. We believe this number can be greatly improved, so Friends of the Animal Village is doubling down next year on our efforts to increase awareness about the Animal Village, as well as to microchip pets in our community.

Forever Home Friday!
It's Forever Home Friday! Remember Lil Bit, the tiny senior chihuahua we posted about last month? She was adopted by a wonderful family who sent us an update this week. From Lil Bit's new mom: I took Lil Bit, who I have renamed Minnie, and my baby Squeaker to see Santa. She is doing great. I'm totally in love with her. Thank you for letting us adopt her. She is absolutely precious, in my lap right now, she does not let me get far from her. She sleeps in bed under the covers,

FAV Heartworm Fund
Heartworms are a serious problem in the South. A large number of animals coming into shelters are heartworm positive as a result of having not been on heartworm preventative. Treating heartworms is very expensive, and the Little Rock Animal Village simply does not have the funds to do so, meaning adopters of heartworm positive animals must pay for the treatment themselves. It can cost up to $1,000 to treat heartworms at a private vet, so obviously the obligation to pay for tr

Home for the Holidays
Foster a homeless animal in need this holiday season! Dogs and cats may not know what Christmas is exactly, but they do feel the undeniable warmth and love of a real home. If you don't require any convincing and want to know how to get started right away, contact the Little Rock Animal Village. If you're interested in fostering kittens in
